Assisted Living Caricature Demonstration at Gidwitz Center, Northbrook, Il.
On January 7th I demonstrated how I draw caricatures to a group of people at an assisted living center. After talking about my background, I invited people in the audience to come upstage and be drawn one by one. We discussed prominent features, face shapes and expressions. I then did a quick one minute sketch and explained how I take what I have visualized to paper. I then took a large piece of paper that was translucent and place it over my sketch. I proceeded to draw a finished 5 minute sketch which the subject kept. Since my objective is to have fun and make people laugh at themselves, a good time was had by all.
